Spain's In

The Real Club Nautico de Valencia (RCNV) and Green Comm Racing announced the details of their Challenge for the 34th America’s Cup at a press conference Thursday afternoon in Valencia, Spain.

The Green Comm Racing team, representing Spain’s RCNV, completes the field of nine teams from eight nations that will be on the starting line in ten AC 45 catamarans at the first America’s Cup World Series event beginning August 6 in Cascais, Portugal.

The team aims to give visibility to the challenge of sustainability on a global scale by promoting the development of new technologies and new endeavors in the field of Green Tech.

Pero, donde están los españols? The management team features a mix of Spaniards and Milanese, however there don't appear to be any Spaniards on the sailing team.

Among the team members listed are a bunch of Finn sailors, including St. Francis YC team member Zach Railey. For more on the Olympic silver medallist's latest exploits, keep reading.

ISAF Sailing World Cup Titles Decided

The titles for the 2010-2011 ISAF Sailing World Cup have been decided after the final day at Kieler-Woche, the seventh regatta in the Sailing World Cup series.

After sailing at five ISAF Sailing World Cup Regattas, USA's Anna Tunnicliffe comfortably won the Women's Match Racing title following her fifth place finish at Kieler-Woche. Anna's crew includes Molly Vandemoer of Palo Alto. Another Bay Area sailor, Genny Tulloch, finished 11th in the series in Women's Match Racing.

In Finns, Zach Railey finished the series fourth, after a trio of Brits: Ben Ainslie, Edward Wright and Giles Scott. Ed Wright is one of Zach's teammates on the Green Comm Racing team.
