Delta Ditch Run at the Docks

June 11, 2010

If the SSS Singlehanded Transpac is the "bug light for weirdos," then the Delta Ditch Run is the bug light for weird boats. They come from all over and some are one of a kind. (Or two of a kind if the builder was lucky.) We found these at the docks of Richmond YC the night before the race.

Along with the monohulls, it seems the cats have been breeding for this race with 23 Hobies, Nacras and more showing up. With the predicted northerly they may be on the edge of death on the reaches. We will see later if they end up as road kill.

We'll have much more on this race, including video. We've handed out cameras to some of the Moore 24 fleet (the Ditch Run is a 'counter' in their Roadmaster Series). Stay tuned!
